Outside the entrance to Iron Rock Ranch Apartments, there is a silver cross with a football helmet.  The cross is for Bowie High School coach, Wade Pittsford.

Thelma and South 1st, Austin Texas

I first saw this memorial when it was new a few weeks ago but did not have my camera. That oversight ended up being fortuitous. When I stopped to take photos today, a lady pulled up behind me and came to view the memorial. She was the mother of one of the children who died from the accident. Her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend were struck by a truck as they tried to cross South 1st at the crosswalk.

There is no stop light at this corner and there have been several demonstrations since the incident to have once placed here.
